A tall, heavily-built lad stepped off a luxury line cruiser, S.S. Tidal. The Hoenn ferry has become famous for its extended range of travel, offering transport even to such a remote land as Zorneeo. Sighing deeply, Joren walked off the loading ramp, ready to start his very own adventure, one that his sister Maylene began many years ago. All he knew, was that he was supposed to go to the region's Pokémon Lab, to get his brand new starter Pokémon. He felt very sorry about having to leave his trusted Tyrogue behind in Sinnoh, but somehow he felt that they didn't part forever. He asked the nearest man standing next to him for the directions to the Lab, and set off.
He walked leisurely for over two ours, before reaching a snow-white, huge building that was several stories high, and probably down, too. It seemed somewhat intimidating, compared to Professor Rowan's Lab, which was a simple, two-room, ground-level building with few shelves stacked with books, and even fewer machines. Joren stopped on the doorstep, doing a quick reminder of all available types. He knew already that only three are of any interest to him. The only problem was, which one of the trio should he choose?
Joren took a deep breath, looking around to see if anyone has seen him, just standing on the doorstep and looking completely empty-minded. He closed his eyes, and stepped into the impressive Laboratory. Once he opened his eyes again, Joren was dumb-struck. He expected this Lab to be better than Professor Rowan's, but not by that much! Hundreds of shelves and desks literally crammed with books, all of them regarding Pokémon. Machines and computers were all stacked at the end the room, but that's not to say there was few of them. They probably contained more information than all the books here doubled!
He suddenly remebered that he wasn't the only person in the Lab, and smiled shily out of embarrasment. He walked over to the closest person sitting behind a desk, listing the three Pokémon and their evolutions he remebered from his own research. Charmander...Charmeleon...Charizard. Fire-Flying. Torchick...Combusken...Blaziken. Fire-Fighting. Piplup...Prinplup...Empoleon. Water-Steel. He was focusing solely on what was going in his mind, and forgot that he has been standing in front of the person for over a minute now, without saying a word out loud.
